What is your turn around time for sharpening my clipper blades?

The turn-around time for sharpening your clipper blades depends on a few factors. These can include the time of year, what type of blades, and how many blades or shears being sent in. Our goal is to complete orders within 3 days of receiving them. However, during peak seasons the time to complete the work may be slightly longer. We will always get your blades back to you as soon as possible.

Please remember to take these steps so we can process your order as quickly as possible

  • Please include a order form with your blades indicating the type of blades, the number of blades, and your contact information.

  • Please pack your blades securely to prevent damage in transit. See our shipping page for more details.

  • When choosing to pay by Credit Card, shipping will be delayed until payment is made. We send all invoices to the email you  provide on your order form so please make sure this information is clear.

How should I help keep my blades sharp for as long as possible?

First, make sure the hair and hide of the animal you are grooming is as clean as possible.

Oil is often not used enough. Blades should be oiled every 15 minutes of use.

If you use blade cleaners, this does not replace oiling them. Clean then oil in order to keep your blades sharp and working well for you.

Taking these steps will help your blades stay sharper longer as well as help keep the integrity of your blades.

How should I store my clipper blades?

Make sure that your clipper blades are clean and oil before putting them in a blade case.  It is not recommended that you keep your blade case in an area with high moisture or humidity. If you are in a high humidity area spray them with WD-40 as this creates a water barrier from the metal.

What do I do if I notice they are getting rust?

Spray them with WD-40 at anytime you notice rust starting to appear on your blades at the end of the day, then at the beginning of the next day oil before use.

My blades are sharp, however I have lines being left in the fur/hair when I clip. What is happening?

Clean your clippers thoroughly including the blade, blade drive, and blade latch and remove any fur, hair, debris as well as check for signs of wear and tear, also ensure they are oiled.

You can check your blades on another set of clippers to see if they work properly. Once on another set of clippers, if not working it is your blades. Send them is so we can check and see what is happening with them. If the blades work fine on the second set of clippers it is often your blade drive.

A worn blade drive causes a number of common issues such as leaving blade lines, seemingly reduced blade performance, or making you blades act as though they are dull even after a fresh sharpening.

If you are using Andis Clippers on a daily basis, with a high workload, please be aware blade drives need to be changed about once a month to maintain consistent working ability. Other brands of clipper blade drives recommend 1-3 months depending on the workload. If you suspect your blade drive to be worn, please contact us and we can repair for you if needed.
